Unlike everyone else, Emeric wasn't born in a city or town. He was born in a forest. His parents were rather... Odd, and they decided they wanted to live up in the largest tree of White Forest. At first, he would never leave the little tree house. He was far too afraid to. It wasn't until he started having dreams of a beautiful Lopunny, a Pokemon that had never been seen in the wild in Unova, that he started to venture down the tree. The Lopunny had a great deal of patience for the boy, and it would slowly guide him down the tree, going farther and farther with each dream.
In the 'land of the living', as parents would say after a nap that turned into seven hours instead of two, his parents taught him many things. It started out with the basics of life, but then they taught him how to use herbs and what to stay away from. He grew to love everything about the world outside the tree. As the years passed, he would spend his days practicing medicine and his nights playing with the Lopunny.
When he turned thirteen, the shift happened. Unlike many, his shift occurred in the middle of the day. It started his whole family, and his mother looked like she was about to be sick. The sound of bones cracking was what sent her to the bathroom. His father, on the other hand, grabbed some burdock root and forced Emeric to chew on it. The pain dulled, but it was still there. The shifting took a little longer than expected. When it finally finished, his mother came out from hiding in the bathroom to see what he had become. To say the least, they were surprised. He had become a Lopunny, the very one he had described to his parents without ever seeing on in real life.
Emeric's parents were accepting of this change. The years passed, and nothing really changed in their daily life style. Soon, he was sixteen. Being home schooled, he was already many years ahead of everyone else. So, he enrolled in college to study more medicine, though he didn't say anything about being a shifter. After two years of that, he decided to study to become a nurse. He stayed in that until he was twenty-two. It was then that he applied to become the school nurse of Avalon Academy. They took him in with open arms, and he set to work.
