Okay, I couldn't /not/ post here, and seeing as Lili would probably make Layne cry, I'm going with my next bet.

Anyway, I can almost see Claudia acting as a sort of second mother to Layne. If he's ever in the library, she'll definitely notice the bandages and such, and immediately go into mother goose mode. If Layne doesn't get freaked out by Claudia's motherliness (if that's even a word--Firefox isn't redlining it, so I guess it is), perhaps they can even become friends!
