The afternoon air was mild and leisurely at the moment, and there was just enough of a gentle breeze to get things moving. Up in one of the many trees in the courtyard of the school, a slender form could be seen laying on and parallel to one of the mid-level branches hidden ever so slightly due to the tree's lower bows. Orange eyes peered down at the world below scanning the area for some sort of entertainment. Though he probably could have gone to the student lounge and played some video games to curb his appetite for excitement, Eliot wasn't in the mood for such. He wanted real life action, something dramatic, startling, and just plain fun to really spark him, and video games could only do so much. Thus he was looking now for a victim playmate who wouldn't mind possibly getting tackled to the ground as soon as Eliot decided it was time to leave his hideout tree. Lucky for a good deal of students in Avalon Academy, few had passed directly under the tree that Eliot remained hidden in, and of those few, Eliot had already made note never to prank considering they weren't the kindest of people to begin with. He didn't want to get beat up! That wasn't fun!
Sighing softly to himself, EJ closed his eyes and hummed softly as he debated whetehr or not to just jump down and go looking for someone or not. On the one hand, he'd been in this tree for nearly an hour, and he was getting stiff among other things. It would also be faster to just go running around and looking for someone to play with. On the other hand, however, he'd already made the effort to climb up the tree and wait there. Any moment someone could walk under him, and he could pounce and finally have his fun! Sadly for Eliot James Blackwater, he was never good at making decisions. Thus, when he opened his eyes again, he simply sighed and continued to think over what he wanted to do..... Oh maaaaaaan! He had homework! Pft, like he was going to do that right now, heh. No way, he could totally do it really quickly later on, right? Right.

Homework. Didn't the teachers have anything better to do than give out the stuff? As if the students didn't have anything better to do! There was always fun to be had and people to be met! Did the teachers never think of that? Apparently not... So, it was up to her to juggle her time appropriately... Maybe if she only spent a small part of her day having fun then she could run back to her dorm and do her shifter history homework. Seemed like a good enough plan!
The teenager minun-shifter dashed up to her room, almost knocking someone over in the process. She muttered a hasty apology and continued on into her dorm. Throwing the books onto her bed she came out of the room and closed the door. Now... where would she go? The student lounge wouldn't be a bad place... But she really didn't want to be cooped up inside... No, she would go to the courtyard and see what other shifters were there. She was bound to meet someone new or find someone to talk to!
She changed course to head for the door that led outside... Upon arrival she saw that hardly anyone was there and those that were had their noses in books, studying... Great... It seemed that everyone else had better study habits than she. So, would she just have to turn around and head to the student lounge and hope for better results? Heck no! She'd wait there for someone else to turn up as they were bound to! Refusing to be saddened by having to wait, Krystal Michaels skipped over to the lone tree in the courtyard and plopped down in front of it, leaning against it with her arms behind her head. Her blue eyes scanned in front of her for any new arrivals, she never suspected that she would should look up into the tree for any potential company...

He'd all but fallen asleep just laying there on the branch, yet the sound of motion was enough to cause EJ's ears to perk once more, and both orange eyes snapped open. Looking down below him, he found himself staring at a girl. She looked a bit familiar... possibly just because of the fact that the academy was more or less private, and it was easy to see everyone in a day... er... ok maybe that was an exaggeration, and maybe her features just looked familiar somehow. She could just have one of those face-----Hey! HEEEEY! Oh sweet! She looked like just the type to pounce! As his train of thought was quickly derailed onto another, Eliot grinned a wide Cheshire grin. Slowly forcing himself up to a sitting position, Eliot peered downwards for a brief moment before.....
"LOOK OUT BELOW!" was the shout that echoed out into the air shortly before Eliot quite literally forced himself straight off the branch and surged towards the ground and the girl not too far below. If he had possibly stopped to think for a moment and realized that Krytsal might have been fast enough to dodge this and leave him plummeting to the ground, Eliot probably would have disregarded it and preformed the action anyways. That was simply the kid of being he was when it came down to it, heh. Even if he got hurt, he had fun doing it, right? Right. That was all that mattered anyways.

A few seconds passed and... nothing... Absolutely nothing. Laine had never been one of the most patient people and as she sat waiting for someone to show. If she wasn't so optimistic then the she would probably have left... But as it was something did indeed happen.
"LOOK OUT BELOW!"
Laine looked up just in time to see someone leap out of the tree. Thinking fast she rolled out of the way, simultaneously shifting into her minun form. She watched as the boy fell onto the ground behind her, then she giggled and leaped right on the middle of his back. "Look at what I caught! A failed prankster!" Laine clutched her sides with her tiny paws as she fell into a fit of laughter. Not realizing what she was doing the shifter rolled off of the boy's back over to the grass, where she lay as the laughing finally started to subside. "Nice try though, if you hadn't yelled you would have gotten me!" Finally, she managed to sit up and look at her "assailant" face to face. His features seemed familiar but then again... it wasn't rare to see someone in class or pass by them while walking. Laine much preferred talking to just passing by though, talking with others was what made her days fun. That and playing with others... Although a lot of other shifters didn't exactly like when she played since they claimed that she played too much. But Laine couldn't help how she was... It was just imbedded within her to be playful. Possibly on some twist of irony, more likely because he'd made his presence known before he actually finished his move, Eliot found himself landing on the ground rather than on the person he had been aiming for. Hu? Where did she---!!!! Suddenly finding himself tackled to the ground (as if he weren't already on the ground before), EJ flopped a little and simply lay there. However, as he listened to the voice, the young teenager rolled sideways just as the Minun in question had hopped off of him. Sitting up, Eliot found his eyes focusing in on the small pokemon that had supposedly outdone him.
OOOOH! A Minun! Not at all angry that he had been tricked and overturned in turn actually beaten so to speak, Eliot broke into a huge grin and beamed at the electric pokemon. "Hey! You look like me!" he smiled not giving a verbal explanation but using the short time after to shift himself into his Plusle form. He possibly would have thought better of it, but after having been at the Academy for a few years, EJ was comfortable with the general crowd and knew he wouldn't be hated for transforming... seeing as all that here here, and he assumed all when it came down to it, could transform as well. This was a safe place! A good safe place!
Almost instantly after transforming, Eliot felt a charge of sorts surge through him: a sort of spark of life, so to speak. If the boy had payed more attention in school he would have instantly recognized it as a reaction of Plus and Minus, the general Plusle and Minun special abilities. However, this didn't actually come to mind, and the feeling itself was ridden off as excitement. "See?" EJ grinned clapping his hands together and hopping up and down with a huge grin on his face.
If he had been more mature, or just more formal maybe, Eliot possibly would have given his name and fully introduced himself, but seeing as he was neither of the two, this thought actually never occurred to him and probably wouldn't occur to him unless it was specifically drawn up.

Laine tilted her small head to the side at his first sentence. "Like you? What do you-" The answer came with the teenager shifting. Laine couldn't believe her eyes... He was a plusle shifter! How cool was that? The shifter grinned from ear to ear when the teenager finished shifting. "Wow! I can't believe it! You're a plusle and I'm a minun, that's awesome!" Laine bounded up onto four feet and started running around the plusle shifter. For some reason she had more energy than usual... there was a reason for that... She knew there was. Some lesson in class about abilities tickled the back of her mind but she just couldn't- ah ha! Now she remembered. The abilities of plusle and minun made both stronger when together. Laine paused in her running to stop in front of the plusle as a new thought came to her mind. "So, kid, do you like to play games? Or is failing at pranking what you like to do most?" She hoped that this teenager liked to play as much as she did, if so, she could really get to like him! After all, playing was one of her favorite pastimes... Could it be his too? "By the way, kid, my name's Krystal but everyone calls me Laine on account of my middle is Elaine." She wagged her small minus-shaped tail and asked, "What's your name? So I don't have to keep calling you 'kid'." She giggled at her last statement before peering at the plusle in a friendly manner as she awaited his answer.[/blockquote]

As he found himself being run around, Eliot stood back on two feet and began to turn around trying to keep up with the Minun. He probably should have just resorted to four legs and chased her in a circle of sorts, but as was noted before, such things just didn't come to his mind. The pause in the Minun's running caused EJ to try and stop turning only to fall back on his butt due to the momentum. Startled, he let out a shrill cry before breaking into a monstrous laugh.
The questions that came caused EJ to stop for a brief moment, and a huge smile crept its way onto his face. Shoving himself up again only to bed forwards onto four legs, he beamed back at Krystal -er- Laine? - He couldn't decide which one he liked more, and thus, EJ ended up decided he would call her both! Because that was the best, obviously.
"I don't fail all the time!" he called rather quickly shaking his head and his positive tail in turn. "You were just fast!...Super fast! Like... like the wind!" he grinned at his own allusion of sorts before shaking his head and causing those rather large red ears to flop around for a brief moment before returning to their standard positions. "But...OH yes I love to play games! Games are super fun.....and...uh......uh... Nice to meet you Krystal-Laine!" he stopped a moment after having slurred the two names together into some sort of hybrid name. "My name is Eliot! But everybody calls me EJ!....Because..." Eliot had to actually stop a moment to think over the origin of his nickname. "Oh! Because my middle name is James! Eliot James... EJ!" he grinned as though possibly a bit too proud of himself for figuring that out on his own.
Oh! OOOOH! OH! OH! He had the best idea! The b est! "Hey! Hey let's play tag!" he grinned before suddenly reaching forwards and poking Laine on the arm and quickly returning to four feet only to dash away in the next second. "You can't get me!" he called as he ran. Lunging under a bench and causing several students to jump as he did so, Eliot rushed out the other side and kept running before making a rather obscure flying leap up onto a table and nearly knocking over a few books as he dashed away. "Come on come on!" he jived childishly. "You can't get me!"

Like the wind? Did he really think she was that fast? Her eyes sparkled and she giggled modestly -and also partly because of the plusle's ears flopping around. "But...OH yes I love to play games! Games are super fun.....and...uh......uh... Nice to meet you Krystal-Laine!" Krystal-Laine? No one had ever called her that before... She liked it!
"EJ? Like the two letters in the alphabet? Cool! I like it a lot!" She lowered herself onto four feet like EJ and wagged her tail behind her happily. "Hey! Hey let's play tag!" Tag! She loved tag! There was no better game that involved running than tag! Well... except maybe chase... or racing... or keep-away... But that was besides the point! Laine grinned and tried to duck away as EJ suddenly reached forward and tagged her. "Wanna bet?" She took off after the plusle, running as fast as her four legs would carry her. She laughed out loud as she rushed after him under the bench, ignoring the glares that the other students gave them. This game was just too fun to stop! Laine was gaining on the plusle until all of a sudden he disappeared. No, that was impossible. Laine stopped momentarily to look around. Her eyes saw that EJ had jumped up onto a table and was now rushing away. "I'm gonna get you! You better run fast!" With that she rushed off after him again, pumping her tiny legs hard to get closer. Finally, she started to close in and she jumped forward, one paw tapping the plusle on the tail. "Got you!" She skidded to a stop and turned around, heading to the tree that they'd formerly come from. Quickly, she climbed up the tree and perched up on a high bough. "Can't get me, slowpoke!" She blew a raspberry and tried climbing higher into the branches. [/blockquote]

He'dalmost reached the table and had been just about to leap off when he felt a paw on his tail which caused him to skid at the last moment falling off the table as he did so. Hitting the ground again, the Plusle shook his head and looked around. Ears twitching for a few seconds as his eyes scanned for where Krystalaine went before noticing that she was actually headed back to the-- his hiding tree! Hopping forwards, he chased her back to the tree just as she started climbing up it.
The call only made him smirk, and he made yet another flying leap and began to climb up the tree. "I'll get you just you wait!" he called playfully running faster still and causing a few bits of bark to fall off the tree and he climbed. Hopping up a few bows, EJ made to catch a hold of the branch that the Minun was on only to --- EP! Missing the branch, the Pulsle suddenly began to fall back down to the ground again. Ack no! This was too high up! Hitting the ground would....!!!! He made a flailing motion to seize whatever he could, yet it was too late, and the small electric type plummeted to the ground. "SLE!" he shrieked before suddenly hitting the ground flat backed. Ow....
In what could only be described as a 'poof', EJ was more or less forced back into his human form only to lay there groaning a little. Ow... that had... that had actually hurt! Though he had a high pain tolerance, whether this was because of overexposure to threatening or hurtful situations from his games or just natural tolerance inbred by some sort of deep heredity was up for debate, that fall had hurt! In all truth, he was just content to lay there and whimper slightly as a few shock tears came, and thus he did so.

Lain glanced back to see the plusle catching up to her, she laughed and watched for a minute before attempting to leap up further. It was only by sheer chance that she looked back once more to see her tag-companion falling out of the tree. Sheer panic came to the young teen as she immediately descended the tree, she made it down just as EJ landed on his back below the large tree.
"Are you-" She saw the tears starting to come out of his eyes and she fell silent. No. He wasn't alright... That was a long and hard fall. The minun edged closer to EJ and peered down at him. Not quite knowing what to do she patted his shoulder with a blue paw before shifting back to her human form. "I don't think it was such a good idea to climb that tree... Is there anything I can do for you, EJ?" She felt a little guilty for teasing him like that and now that he'd fallen out of the tree and was lying on the ground she felt awful. She didn't want her potential playmate to be injured... Then what would she do? What would he do? He'd be told to go rest in his room, then he'd be all bored and it would be all her fault... "I'm sorry, EJ. I didn't mean to get you hurt, do you need me to get one of the teachers or the nurse?" If he said yes she'd be off faster than a flash to find someone. There was nothing that would stop her from rescuing her companion! She reached down once more and patted his shoulder again, fearing for the worst but hoping for the best.[/blockquote]

EJ just frowned a bit more even at the question that had started to form form Krystalaine. "It hurt, neeeeeh...." he practically whined. Thankfully he had landed rather flatly, having not put any sort of weight on any body part too much and thus pressing out small aches and pains around his body rather than anything major. At the question on getting a teacher or nurse or something, Eliot blinked. N-nurses were scary though Dx;! Teacher's weren't so much, but nurses! NURSES! They were almost as scary as doctors, and doctors were horrifying! They carried around all that equipment, and he heard they were actually vampires! No! He wouldn't go to a nurse or a doctor or a... anything! No thank you! "Nuuuuuu," he stressed before shaking his head slowly only to flinch at his own movements. Owie...
He had to get up though! Or Krsytalaine would call a doctor or a nurse, and he didn't want that! Orange eyes closed, and Eliot's face scrunched up for a brief moment before he slowly forced himself to sit up despite all his lateral muscles screaming obscenities in the form of electrical impulses. "I-I'll be ok!" he stated though half way through his words his voice broke and shot up an octave. "Just a hard fall!" he insisted before falling quiet as a rather sullen look remained on his features. "Maybe we should... stick to the ground next time...." he mumbled more to himself than to his new Minun friend. Either that, or maybe a tree with larger limbs.... something different. He'd worry about it later! Probably........maybe....... possibly... ok maybe not.

"Nuuuuuu," Well, he definitely didn’t want a nurse or teacher… but he didn’t look to good at the moment. Especially since he could barely move… But if he really didn’t want one she wouldn’t go against his wishes. It was good that he didn’t want one of the adults though, if she had to tell them what happened then both she and EJ would be in trouble and no one wanted that.
Laine watched quietly as the plusle shifter tried to get up, even she could see how much pain he was in. It was obvious. If Laine was mature enough she would have gotten up right then and went to get an adult but as it was she simply put on a brave smile. "I-I'll be ok! Just a hard fall!"
”Great! I bet if you just rest a little you’ll be as good as new!” The young teen scooted over beside EJ and laid down next to him on her back, her light blue eyes watching the clouds. ”You’re right about that… Note to self, never climb trees when playing tag.” As if she would remember that the next time she played tag… It would be a miracle if she remembered that the next day with what short memory she possessed. She put her arms behind her head and took a quick peek at EJ before returning her gaze to the sky. ”So, what do you want to do now?” She asked as she sat up. Cloud watching wasn’t really something the girl had ever been prone to do unless she was really bored and had absolutely nothing else for her to get into, which wasn‘t too often. She had a million and one things in her mind that she would love to do but not if her newfound friend wasn’t up to it. [/blockquote]

Eliot managed to smile a little bit at Krystalaine. Good, she wasn't going to get one of the adults. He'd be fine! Yep! Upon finding her lying down next to him, EJ looked sideways and down at his Minun friend (despite the fact that his neck wasn't too happy with all this motion). At the question, EJ perked a little once more as he quickly thought over something they could do. Hm.... Slowly turning his head around the courtyard before finally settling on the fountain, Eliot broke into a huge grin as his eyes settled on the sparkling water there. "Hey we could go coin fishing in there!" he proclaimed raising a somewhat stiff arm and pointing to the fountain with the two large water pokemon in it. The basin of the fountain was notorious for having a considerable amount of spare change thrown out by the obviously pious belief that one would receive a wish for doing so.
Seeing as he actually had no full or even part time job there on the island and given his tuition, room and board, was all that his parent's paid for to keep him there, Eliot rarely found himself with any extra money. Thus, he had gone fishing a few times previously: just enough to win over a few extra snacks from the vending machine. It was rather fun, trying to find ways to get the coins from the bottom without actually getting wet.... but then again, even getting wet was pretty fun too under the right conditions, of course. That ... actually wasn't a bad idea! If Laine didn't want to go fishing, they could just transform and go swimming! Er... could Plusle and Minun swim? Well... he knew how to swim in his human form, so he should be able to do so in his pokemon form, right? Right!

Laine's gaze settled on the fountain as she followed the direction of his point. "Coin fishing?" Her spirits were cheered at the prospect of something new to do. "I've never done that before. But it sounds fun!" Personally she had never thrown coins in a fountain but she didn't know if she'd ever want to... Why would you want to waste money by throwing in water? It was silly to her. And if people wanted to waste their money by throwing it in the water then she would be happy to take it out, after all they apparently didn't want it if they'd just throw it all away. "Come on, let's go!" She started to give him a friendly punch in the arm but decided against it, he probably wouldn't thank her for it since the poor guy was already sore. So, she gave him a smile instead and rose to her feet. Within seconds she was running over to the fountain and peering down into the clear, blue water. It seemed like it would be quite refreshing to jump in while in her minun form but she resisted the urge. She would try coin fishing first before trying to take a swimming lesson in the fountain. The teen saw shiny coins just sitting down at the bottom just waiting to be taken, she wanted to reach down and grab all of them but held herself in check as she waited for EJ to arrive over at the fountain. "Wow... I bet there's like a hundred-no, a thousand dollars in change down there!" How anyone could throw so much money away was beyond her. [/blockquote]

At the question of coin fishing, Eliot nodded his head and grinned rather large. Oh! She'd never done that before? Well that would make it more fun of course! Upon the call to go, those orange eyes sparkled, and in another moment, he was forcing himself to stand and quickly heading over to the fountain. Mostly because he was sore, EJ had moved a little slower than he normally would have, but as he came to the fountain and stared down in it, he couldn't help but grin.
"Yep and it's all ours!" he proclaimed rather quickly before starting to roll up his black and orange sleeves. If he could reach his arm down in it and start fishing the coins up--- "Oh man! I bet we could buy all the snacks in the vending machine with this!" he laughed as the thought spontaneously came to him. "That would be so tasty!" Upon rolling up his sleeves, EJ reached up forwards and into the cold water only to recoil a moment. "Burr!" he flinched shaking his head a moment before looking determined and reaching in the water again.
After a moment, he pulled out a few coins, mostly pennies, and frowned. "Small change!" he exclaimed before shaking his head. "Come on! Help me find the super big change too!" he beamed at Krystalaine was if trying to be as convincing as possible. OOC: Sorry for the wait :/ Christmas was chaotic lol....
