That was what it sounded like to the young male. His body was small and he didn't look at all the age he was. A seventeen year old who looked like he was twelve. The boy, despite his young age had been through a heck of a lot. The boy had lost his parents at a young age due to his own reckless actions.
He wished he had known back then. It was dangerous to be a shifter. He still hadn't forgiven himself for what he had done to his parents. The sound of drums continued, but really it wasn't drums, it was his own pounding fists. He had yet to shift into his other form. No.. he had been out here for hours slamming his knuckles into a tree in a consecutive order of punches.
Scars littered his hands and his knuckles were sore and bloody. Even the tree had a few stains of his blood on it. The boy didn't stop though. He didn't care about the pain. He had felt much worse before, and didnt mind the pain. He deserved so much more than just pain in his knuckles. He only stopped for a moment, his breathing a little heavy. He wished he could take back everything.
He found himself leaning against the same tree and sliding down its trunk. His body sinking to the ground as he pulled his legs into his chest. Damn it. He was supposed to feel stronger than this. He wasn't supposed to be weak, he was the champion for christ's sakes. He wasn't supposed to be weak. Never weak. He was supposed to be the strongest and keep his emotions in line.
Yet he couldn't stop it. He could feel them, he could feel the tears coming as he buried his head in his head, in a silent sob. He needed to get it out.. so he could go back to being the champion again... [/style]

The afternoon light bathed the forest in yellow-orange slightly distorted the things within the forest, or at least it did to the sea foam green eyes that were looking through the winding brush as one silver haired young fighter walked through it. It was nice, quiet, and somewhat boring. Not that Lex cared, really. He wasn't here to enjoy the scenery anyways. In all reality, he was headed through the forest and off to the Cliffs to go smoke and study for a bit. Though he wasn't the best student around, Lex knew damn well that if he didn't keep his grades up, it would just give the teachers more to use against him. If he kept his grades high, well, heh, it was harder for them to do anything... not to mention the fact that it normally secured his ability to remain in his one and only favorite club. It was quiet by the cliffs, usually, and people generally stayed away because of the safety hazard that had never ceased to impress Lex as something rather interesting and mildly hysterical on one note or the other.
The grey haired young man wore his standard issue clothes that, though they were somewhat tight, didn't get caught on the foliage as much as other clothes might have: blue jeans and s t-shirt that read some sarcastic remark on the front and the partner to said remark on the back. Though it appeared that he could have worn this set of clothes that day, the subtle glint of water in Lex's hair argued otherwise, and indeed he had taken a short shower only thirty minutes prior after someone, who shall remain nameless -fuck them anyways- called him an ash tray to which he called this person something far more obscene and earned a glare from a teacher who had been passing. Though he tried not to let it get to him, Lex finally gave in and took a rather long shower as soon as he got to his dorm.
Yeah... walking through the forest to go smoke after he'd spent the last hour if not more trying to clean off the smell of smoke from his skin probably wasn't the most intelligent thing to do after he'd just cleaned up, but then again, Logic was a bitch anyways. Thus, Lex found walking still.
What caught Lex's attention was the sound of punching that was now vibrating through his ears. Though someone else might have assumed the repetition of sound was far closer to a drum than to something being smacked up against a tree, Lex knew the sound as something rather familiar: something he did when out training. Eh? Now who the heck was out here in the middle of the frickin' woods training when they had a gym and several other places back at school. The image of some underclassman trying to be strong made Lex slowly smirk, and with that, he changed his direction towards the sound.
He could go over and smoke later. Time for some humor.
However, as he continued to approach, Lex heard the punching stop. Hm? Had someone decided to give up? Picking up the pace a little, Lex finally came to the source of where the sound had come from only to catch sight of the single person in the area. Champion? Eichi? The heck was he doing here? Of all people, Lex would have assumed the young man would be training with the group or something...not just... Well.... what the heck was he even doing now? Lex hesitated a moment.
Hesitation was for wimps.
Stepping forwards, Lex came a bit closer. "Sup, Champ," he called with an easy smirk now on his face.

The words attached itself to him. He knew how it felt to be alone, but who was he to have pity on himself? Others dealt with the same things.. so who was he to feel in pain for something he had done. He sighed and wished that the tears would just go away. Wished that he could be amnesiac and his memories just disappear. Eichi sighed. Damn, he was getting upset again. He really needed to stop such idiot feelings. He wasn't the type to really like getting up set. It got things in danger.
That was when the male heard silent sounds. Sounds that you had to be paying attention to hear. Someone was coming. The white-haired male ignored it for the moment. He wondered if they would just go away. He hoped so. He only wished that they would. But they came back, and the sound was getting louder. They were coming toward him. With the thought, Eichi pushed his emotions down. He didn't want anyone to see them, and slowly moved his head up so he was just leaning on his arms, his tears gone. He watched for a moment before another form came into view.
This one was rather familiar. The sight of him, instantly made the small male relax. Was this what the fighting club did to him. He knew that answer. They gave him a reason to be alive. It was his reason for living now. He helped others get stronger and he planned on doing just that. This was one of his elite four, lex verde. The boy was such a troublemaker with his smoking, but he was a loyal friend. Eichi had a rather special talent, he could find out more about a person by fighting them. Lex, he had spent time with and fought, so.. he was on pretty good terms with the boy.
He seemed to hesitate for a moment before he came over and called to him. Eichi smirked, matching the other male's own. His legs moved picking up his weight and making him stand. "Well, I didn't expect to see you Lex. What are you doing out here?" he asked with the smirk growing on his face. He felt relaxed around lex, he could at least be himself around him. It was something he couldn't say for most. So it was a nice feeling when the got the chance. He couldn't help but smirk a little more though. " You out trying to cause trouble? Smoking and everything else?" he said.
His body relaxed completely as he leaned back on the trunk of the tree. Who knew.. maybe Eichi would want to join him. It was a lot better than staying out here alone anyway.[/style]

As Eichi stood up, Lex stood up a bit taller stance wise and put his hands in his pockets mostly out of habit --- that actually started with him usually fishing out a pack of cigs but was not the case today, or that moment, at least. The question only drew a rather interesting cynical expression from Lex's lips despite the fact that there was now denying something when it was already pointed out dead and center. "You know me a bit too well, Ei," he answered back looking sideways and off through the forest for a brief moment as though there were something more interesting there.
However, after a moment, his eyes returned and stared at the man before him. "Was headed out to the cliffs, actually," he answered if a bit more vaguely than usual, but even this answer was somewhat bad, really. The cliffs were off limits to students, usually, but this made it the perfect place to hide out and enjoy himself away from teachers and idiot tattling students like a certain Student Council President who shall remain nameless. However, they could suggest he was going to train, even if he wasn't. The sharp rocks made for the best climbing places in order to increase one's upper body strength though Lex hadn't been regularly training there since after he'd started smoking. What had once been a great training spot had become a place to chill and watch the sea.
"What'cha doin' out 'ere, 'nyways?" he asked allowing his general speech to deteriorate into contractions and conjunctions if only for a bit. "Sounded like you were beatin' up a tree or somethin'," he laughed a little as his eyes actually move to the tree that Eichi was leaning against. "Ya know 's more fun to beat up livin' targets than the trees ." More fun to Lex, at least... well, usually.
