Ah, Celadon City, the place to go for all your gambling needs! It's also the place to be when you're an orphan. That's right, little Gavriil is an orphan. He watched his parents be brutally murdered when he was only five. The murderer was found 'innocent' for unknown reasons, and said murderer also, somehow, gained custody of Gavriil. Did he stay with the man? Hell. No. He high tailed it out of there the moment his back was turned.
He never tried looking for the young Russian.
There was also the will his parents left, but he wasn't allowed to even touch it until he turns eighteen. The only thing he knew was on there was the entire Krupin fortune, and that was a lot of money. A lot of zeros, to be exact.
Gavriil lived on the streets since then. He was living off of crowfood--er, road kill and garbage. The only real food he got was from sympathetic people who passed him by. When he was seven, he got word of the lawyer who worked on the case. Said lawyer was going to come check up on the boy, but he wasn't at the murderer's house. This was when he devised a plan. On the day the lawyer came, he snuck back into the rundown house. When the man finally came into his 'room' (it was more of a closet), he was shocked at what he saw: a skeleton of a boy covered in dirt and torn, a few sizes too small clothing. He was taken from the house, and the murderer was finally sent to jail. It might not be the life sentence he deserved, but it was jail all the same.
Gavriil was then given clean clothes and real food. He was sent to an orphanage, yet he only stayed there for a year. All the families who came to see him were put off by his behavior. Upon realizing no one would accept him for what he had become, the boy fled from the orphanage. He went back to living life on the streets, even going as far as claiming an alleyway all for himself. Said alley was near the Game Corner, so he could easily pickpocket those who walked out. Most of them were drunk, anyway.
When he turned nine, he had his first shift. It was earlier than most, and boy was it painful! He couldn't even stand for a few minutes after the shift finished. When he finally got to look at himself in a piece of broken mirror, he was pretty surprised at what he turned into. He was a Scolipede. Then again, that pretty much fit him. You know how many have dreams of their inner Pokemon? Well, Gavriil never found the use in dreaming, and he rarely had time to sleep, anyway. You could say that his inner Pokemon was just too tired of waiting for him to come and visit.
With the new form, he decided to use it for intimidation. Getting food and money was much easier, and no one dared to enter his alley anymore. The years passed, and his twelfth birthday lead to a Pokemon Poacher finding him in his Scolipede form. Due to his naturally yellow eyes, the eyes of his Pokemon form looked completely yellow instead of yellow with black in the middle. THe poacher thought this was just a unique trait and captured him in a far-too-small cage. Then the poacher loaded him up on a plane.
All was dark until a few days afterward, and the plane finally landed. Light flooded into the room, blinding most of the Pokemon in there. Gavriil, having stayed in his Scolipede time just in case, bashed against the cage walls, grinning successfully when dents started to form. His cage wasn't taken out until last. The place they landed in wasn't of Kanto, that much he could tell. He only knew that they were in Sinnoh because of eavesdroppin on the poacher's conversation with some of the grunts. Then there was the man... Not just a man, but the man who took his parents so long ago.
Rage filled every inch of his body, and the grunts made the wrong choice by opening his cage. He bolted out, aiming a Megahorn straight for the man's heart. It only took a few bashes for the man to fall to the ground, his body lifeless. The rage still filled the boy, so he turned on the poachers. Said poachers already had their Pokeballs out, but they were trembling too much to do anything when them. He didn't calm down until the poachers were gone and the locks on the cages were smashed. The Pokemon from the cages then surrounded him, pushing into his personal bubble, and curled up around him. He was too tired to push them away, and he shifted back into his human form only a few seconds later. He slept better that night than he ever had.
The next morning, he had to shove an Eevee off his face.
Deciding it was time to start figuring out where he was, he took off in a random direction. At dusk, he arrived at some strange city. He didn't bother asking people where he was, instead crashing in an alley. He lived in the alleys of that city until he was fourteen. One morning, he woke up to cerulean eyes staring back at him. The eyes belonged to a Lopunny (Emeric? What are you doing in here?). The Lopunny seemed to hesitate under his glare, but she--er, he--carefully took his hand, murmuring a soft don't worry. The shifter led him through the city, on to a small boat, and over to an island which he later learned was Avalon Island. He led Gavriil up to a huge school and into the main office. The Lopunny shifted into his human form--which took him off guard since he had never seen another shift before--and spoke briefly to the secretary. Before he knew it, he was enrolled in Avalon Academy. Great, just what he needed.
They had to start him off with the very basics when it came to math, history, and all that. Why? Because he hadn't been in school since his parents died. He learned quickly, however, and was soon able to join the others his age in their classes. The years passed, and he turned fifteen. It was on his fifteenth birthday that he got a job as the delivery boy for a Sunnyshore City (hey, look, he finally learned the name of the city!) pizza place.

Hiya! My name's LAMB and I play EMERIC BAPTISTE, LAYNE WINTHROP, & GAVRIIL KRUPIN! I've been derping around on planet Earth for FOURTEEN, FIFTEEN NEXT MONTH years, and I've been a member of the awesome group of people called roleplayers for THREE years! As a member of Hearts and Aura, I promise to make this place awesome and not to give Mariette any headaches, because I could get their banhammer to the face! Most importantly, though, I promise to have fun, because that's what roleplaying is all about, isn't it? ♥
