Taylor was the only child of a couple who resided in Undella Town, Unova. The town mainly exists as a resort in the summer, becoming nearly abandoned in the other seasons. Obviously, someone has to keep the houses in shape for the return of the tourists, which is where her family came in. It was not an overly difficult job, by any means, but the pay was rather nice. After all, it wasn’t as if anyone else wanted to volunteer. Though the family was not overly rich, they were well provided for, and all of their spare cash went straight to their only daughter. With pretty much any toy she could ask for, and the empty resort entirely to herself, it was only natural that she’d grow up to be a spoiled brat.
As for the summer, when the vacationers came around... The summer was a living hell. Well off as the family was, they were no where near as rich as those who spent their summers at the Undella resorts. Needless to say, Taylor was immediately an outcast. Not used to interacting with any humans other than her parents, she was at a loss whenever they came around. The other children, when not playing in the warm Unova surf, tormented her constantly. Although, in their defense, she asked for it. She was jealous of their obvious money, and often tried to bully them into getting what she wanted. All she ever wound up with was a fist fight, several painful bruises, and some very angry, very rich customers to deal with. Yet, no matter how many families she managed to chase away, there were always more people who wanted to spend a vacation in beautiful Unova. Thus, her doting parents never saw reason to stop her. As the years went by, she only got worse.
The dreams started the summer when she turned seven. Fed up with the other children her age, she began to dream of a Gyarados: a massive, rampaging beast that devoured everything in its path. It brought her a twisted sort of pleasure. By day, they tormented her, and by night, she tormented them. When she was eleven, the Gyarados attacked her, and she awoke to find herself shifting. She didn’t mind the pain, not really. There was a sort of poetic justice in this, and it filled her with delight. The poor girl, the outcast, was now the most powerful of them all. And at first, it seemed to calm her down. Whenever the others picked on her, all she had to do was shift. The mere sight of her Pokemon form sent them running, preventing any sort of a real fight. But, as time passed, she realised that beating them up wasn’t nearly as fun anymore. After all, she completely outclassed them. They weren't worthy of the time it took to fight them. Thus, she set out on a quest to find some worthy opponents. She wanted to learn, to grow. She wanted to be better- no, she wanted to be the best.
She wandered Unova for a while, tormenting whatever poor trainers she happened to pass along the way. And, though they could teach her about fighting, they couldn't teach her what it meant to be a shifter. Rumors of an academy for shifters reached her ears, and she set off at once for Sinnoh. Maybe someone there could help her become stronger. At the very least, she'd find a more worthy punching bag. She arrived about two years ago, when she was fifteen, and has somehow managed to avoid being expelled. For now.
